Our Ministries

Members and Friends of Immanuel give of their time, talents and treasures because they know it is necessary that we have reminders of our past to ensure, enrich, and give direction for the future. Immanuel’s missions and ministries change and enrich the lives of many.

The Brown Bag Ministry is a simple bag of seven non-perishable items from apple sauce to cheese and crackers to Vienna sausages that provide a meal for someone who might not otherwise have one. The Sunday School class assembles the bags that are always available at the Church for people to take to those who are in need or even to just keep in their car in case they come across someone needing nourishment. The card reads “For I was hungry and you gave me food” – Matthew 25:35.

Seasons of Celebration, Immanuel’s cookbook, is available. All proceeds will help further our ministry in the Diocese and particularly in our surrounding community.

West Tennessee Pollinator Project – Thistle and Bee – joining with the Diocese in the development of church apiaries. Revenues generated are applied to salaries for employing survivors of human trafficking and prostitution.

Other Outreach Ministries include a community garden, as well as support for the needs of Fayette Cares, a nonprofit, interdenominational organization that provides aid to county residents in need, especially women and their children escaping abuse.

The Music Ministry – Piano music is provided for all services. In addition, guest musicians are invited to Immanuel for Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Easter, Harvest Eucharist and other special occasions. Suggestions of favorite hymns from the congregation are always encouraged.

The Historic Restoration and Preservation of the Immanuel Church building listed on the National Register, the grounds, the Church historical records, and other items used in the celebration of our liturgy are an important and ongoing ministry.

Prayer – Immanuel Church has been a house of prayer for all people since 1832. Our prayer list is located at the back of the church. Names added are lifted up in prayer during our services.
